is it really that long?

I can't believe its been so long since my last post, dunno what happened really -the window of time I hoped for when Amy went to nursery hasn't materialised because Ella decided that 71/2 months was a good time to start standing up, and 9 months was reasonable for walking, so instead of a just cruising baby, I now have someone who can climb stairs, and get from one place to another in the blink of an eye. I've been burning the midnight oil with the spinning so no time to do any digital stuff, and now I'm knee deep in chrissie presents that need finishing. I really wish i could get things done in the daytime, but nigel is an expert at derailing any plans I have, so much so that I don't tell him what my to do list is, because I can guarantee that he'll find a million and one things that must be done by both of us instead - I'm even dependent on him for transport :(. Enough moaning anyhoo.
I was totally cheered up by taking my spins to Heath yesterday, he's got the most stupendous christmas decs up in the shop -strings and strings of huge pompoms! there's even one as big as my head lol! A good reaction to my new stuff as well, plus some more sales so it's all good! I've got a few things to put on etsy soon, along with a project or two using my own and others recycled/repurposed bits and bobs - ooh and i'm on ravelry too!

Good lord! It's been over a year since I updated - doesn't time fly when you're having fun
We have now welcomed another little terror into our midst - Ella , born in January. We've also gutted the house and I have a Kitchen! and a utility room (which is meant to be a workroom as well, but the laundry seems to have taken over) .Last summer we had a wonderful holiday in Paris (disney for the kids, the louvre and plenty of shopping for me lol) and things seem to have flown by. I now have some of my yarns in Heath's Country Store for sale, so fingers crossed the punters like em!

it's here

My wheel has come! had to test it out so i put on the new bits that they'd supplied and had a go -after a small disaster when all the old hooks snapped off so I had to grind them smooth and drill new holes for the new ones(louet hooks are staggered so I reversed it) . Sat last night and managed 100g of shetland while watching Life on mars (174 yds!) and then did 100g of the BFL which was a bit trickier until I learned to hold it so that it didn't break off.
I'm going to take the dark stain off as it was a bit amateur and very worn, It seems to be sadolin!
underneath the original laquer is intact so its sort of sitting there.
I'm definately going to add some photo's later, sick kids have meant no time to do it

interesting week

oh the joy of families. not content with one poorly person in the house, my Eldest has decided to get stomach flu, so that'll be two not going to school tomorrow :(
I've had to attack the fleece- it's no good, couldn't resist and spun up half a blob of the BFL into wool for one of my nieces to knit a felted purse (they both had their birthdays and i made them both a knitting bag with a couple of put together kits in) and i had a go at some Shetland, I got 170 plus metres from 100g and I'm going to dye it and navaho ply it to get a soft candy cane effect . I'm in the middle of doing the same to a ball of the BFL but had to stop because of waking up with a horribly painful eye, probably caused by trying to catch a pyrex plate shoved off the table by my darling daughter.I was a bit close when it exploded into shards and must have picked up a scratch which showed itself this morning, the nurse in A+E was really good , even though i swore loudly when he put drops in my eye - It's getting better but getting fluff in it wouldn't be a good idea methinks
I've got photos of my latest experiments but don't have time to put them up until tomorrow night when DH is back at work

I have wool(and chickenpox)

Got a lovely squidgy parcel from Kimberly-Jane this morning, a Kilo of BFL roving which I've had to keep my hands off- My wheel will be on it's way and if I'd started spindling there won't be any left when it arrives
I've ordered a pile of Kool aid from Mark at koolaid uk , topping up my grape and all the blues and greens(why is most of it red?) and some shetland from bluefaced.
I got a lovely surprise at the weekend, my Mum got her knitting needles out (inspired by a sample in Heath's shop) and knitted me a fantastic long cardigan/duffle coat - She's not picked up needles for 30 years and she has had loads of surgery on her hands so it's a real achievement and the best birthday present for years.
We have chickenpox - number 2 son (the 'difficult' middle child) was escorted into our bedroom this morning by his big brother who announced that Phil had chickenpox 'look mum' and indeed he has, poor little soul- so that's me in for a night shift
